My stay in Istanbul is coming to an end. I have two weeks to get myself together, sit for exams and pack. And while I'll try to get together less than 20kg to please the airline companies, I'll leave out all the difficult times. I never imagined apparently similar worlds can turn out to be shockingly different. In a city with officially 10 million people, you can get run over very easily. I'll take with me all the 'mornings' I had when I woke up after 3 in the afternoon, eating rice and reading Newsweek. And all the nights I went to bed with Houellebecq. I hope he didn't mind my falling asleep with my head on his stories. |
